If u ask me the sport star I like the most, I would give u the following clues to find

He is a cricketer who can single handedly score half of the team’s total score by making the score board to run with such a speed that your eye cant catch. He is the man who can save the match from a draw and lead from front to win it. He is the batsman whom a bowler would never like to face even in their dream. He is the bats man who can send the vibrations of fear to any kind of legendary bowler. Last but not the least he is an INDIAN.

By now u might have got whom I am talking about .He is none other than daring, dashing, exploring, smashing, lunging, and pouncing…..bats man Virender Sehwag. So obviously I wanna see him holding the cup after the final match of ipl2.Being born on the Deccan soil I would also support Deccan Chargers.I am writing this in reference to two matches

• Chennai Vs Delhi
• KKR Vs Rajasthan

These have been the two nerve holding matches so far in ipl. Coincidentally the two matches were on the same day. Though many liked the second match which involved a so called super over ,I liked the first match (u know why !!!).Delhi Dare devils won the toss for the tussle and started the first ball with wrong umpiring decision :P. Devils were not depressed though. Now comes to batting, the trump of all, Viru but this time he hasn’t done well with bat …two wickets on board for very less score. Now started the actual come back of Devils . Dilshan, middle order bats man took the team’s responsibility on his shoulders and stabilized the innings .He got good support from a home player AB Diviliars who finished his first ton and also opened the book of centuries for this season of ipl. Devils finished their innings with a total of 189.Every one thought this is not a big total to chase for Chennai Super Kings (But not me !!!). They started second innings with a blazing start by Hayden. They scored 106 runs in just first 10 overs. Hopes of all Delhi supporters were evaporated by this time but not mine. They just need to score 84 runs with in 10 overs. This might not be big task with legends like Dhoni and Flintoff being yet to bat.But at no point of time I was supporting CSK. But the cricket has done its magic by shifting its balance from CSK to Devils for the rest of the 10 overs. At one point of time they need to score 27 runs with 18 balls .Now the charming performances of Vettori and Salvi who robbed the match from CSK who required 17 runs in last over. U might have understood the result of the match by Now….

My wish fulfilled……………

Better late than never, or is it?

Today , at least someone broke the silence. No matter in his last class.
It was UST sir. It seemed it was coming out of a professor who has been confined in the education system that is ubiquitous in India.
He spoke like the professors that we see in the OCW lectures. The same content. Just with an 'I wish' preluding each phrase.
"I wish classes were of 90 minutes.
I wish we had the system of declaring the syllabus to be covered every week before hand.
I wish we had PPTs given out in advance of the lecture.
I wish we had you people asking questions, having a discussion in class, lively ; not like a Bhagwat Gita sermon going on where some doze off to sleep.
I wish we had tutorials , and handouts.
I wish."
And then , and which made me contrite about all the classes I had attended of the man that stood before me , 'the trademark smile'.

The Girl In The Park

Today afternoon I was sitting idle for a while and as always I opened my facebook pages and came across a quiz.... It said where will you meet your true love and it said park!! Well then somebody suggested I write a poem on it but I guess I have got an excuse to write a short story ....... Here it goes

****************************************************************************************************************************

The Sun was packing her bags and ready to leave to let the moon come and let the whole world enjoy the peace of the night!! The transition was taking place and the most beautiful of all scenes, dusk was the time. I was just returning back from work. It was a comparatively less hectic day and I thought why not go through the park. I could see the boys playing football while the parents were sitting at a distance as a gathering discussing their lives, cricket, politics and everything they could brag of. The old men were also totally engrossed in the chess games. It seemed as if all phases of mankind's life have come to unite in this small retreat from the city, in the beautiful park.
I always remember my childhood days when I go to parks. I remember how I used to play football with my friends and after some time mom would invite me to badminton. Now after getting a job life has changed preety much!! Now I live alone and need to take care of everything in life. Living in a Metropolitan has it's own sets of advantages and disadvantages.
I then decided to take the empty seat at the corner. I loved the seat because it could give me a total view of everything going on in the park. I could now see how the old men were ignoring each other's cheating moves and enjoying the game. I could see the ladies conspiring and the men debating. I could also see how the boys had decided to play their last game before it gets dark. And... Who is she? She was sitting on the bench across the chess tables. She was also observing the people and seemed to enjoy the beauty. She was elegantly beautiful. The way she observed things depicted an intelligence and her head movements and her occassional body languaged showed a grace she carried so well. Her eyes were the most beautiful deep eyes I had ever seen. Before I even knew, I was looking at her continuously, literaly staring at her. Then our eyes met. She gave a pause and we both were now looking into each other's eyes. Then she looked the other side. I also started acting as if nothing had happened. Then she again took a fast glance to see me. We again caught each other.
I then decided to take a chance. I got up and walked slowly towards her. I knew she was so much aware of me!! I approached her, and at the last moment took the path just beside her bench. She looked at me and we both smiled. Smiles speak loads more than words and silences. That was a start of a new friendship.... (Lets see if I continue the story)

No Comments ...

Well this seems to be the latest buzzword in the country. As the Great Indian Political League action is catching up so is the global acceptance of these golden words.Right from IPL stars to biz tycoons, from tinsel world celebs to political mavericks ,”No comments ” seem to have been embraced by one and all.The star studded list comprises of mighty Barack Obama, erudite Manmohan Singh ,street smart Lalu and our “desi Iron man” Lal Krishna Advani.Just like “sorry”,the Midas touch of “no comments” seem to have Ganga like purging effect.Had it not been then why on every important aspect ,be that terrorism ,recession ,education, RTI,reservation or any other major issue, our politicians rather than taking a stand cover themselves under the garb of “No comments”.This is a state of stagnancy, of complete inaction.Without being held accountable, ample space is provided to our mob-conjurers to enter into marriages, acquisitions, joint ventures or diversification tactics based on post poll results. Cricketing stars of IPL aren’t far behind and are giving a neck to neck fight to our political league champs. The residents of glitz and glamour should’nt either be forgotten.Be that issues of connections with underworld, obscenity or tax-golmaal ,the magic of “no comments ” survives. You all must be wondering why is this fella ranting about no comments like a maniac.Well this has to do to the lethargic attitude of readers who don’t even drop their comments after reading a blog.Just like politicians they refrain from taking a stand or sharing their views defeating the very purpose of blogging. This I believe is the general etiquette that must be made mandatory so to make the blogging experience more wholesome and entertaining .A dictatorial law must be enforced so to terminate “No comments”. Lets start the campaign “No to No comments “…what say fellas ? ;) [Just in case (by ur sheer bad luck) you happened to accidentally bang into this space do drop in your comments :D ]

"THE LEADER"

we had lots of conversation related to rising of India. Now it become a formal talk about competition between India and China for the 1st position in the world as a developed nation.
Let us see some states related to economy and social culture for both countries.
China's per capita GDP growth is averaged to 8 per cent for the past 25 years .since 1980, more than double the growth rate of Indian per capita GDP. Somewhere between 1975 and 1985 China's average income is believed to have surpassed India's. Since then it has kept moving ahead. By 2003 China's per capita GNP was at least 70 per cent higher than that of India's and it's economy was more than twice that of India's. Much of China's growth was powered by labor-intensive manufactured exports, which took the share of manufacturing in GDP to nearly 40 per cent, compared to a mere 16 per cent in India.

Other indicators like living standards were just as decisively in China's favor by the turn of the millennium. China's poverty ratio was less than half India's 35 per cent. Female adult literacy was nearly double India's pathetic 45 per cent. Life expectancy in China was a solid 8 years higher than that in India.
Well these figure are not enough to showing comparison between India and China. Our some economist are saying our GDP growing rate is about 9.5% in last 2 months and if this will be continue for 3 to 4 years then we will be at equivalent position with China.
China has huge population and instead of this economy of China is growing at rapid rate. This is not due to they got "Aladdin's chirag", but due to the government policy of China and believe of people as Chinese.(not in only with words but with service for the country also.)
Now the government enhancing to learn global languages to Chinese people but before this it was restricted. Can you think of this why it so??It is not because they hated the global languages,it is due to the fact that brain of Chinese cant be drained by some other countries;therefore Chinese brain has to serve to develop their own country instead of going(brain drain) to other countries.(usually Indian best brains serving for other countries instead of own country. There is also encouraging society status to work outside from India. ).Government of China is totally focus to make better infrastructure or we can say China took a step by step development methods. With the aid of these efforts, China is almost a world leader.

Now industrialization in China is reached to it's peak position and so they want to expand their export businesses world wide.It can be easily seen by their export- import ratio.China has also developed a good domestic market so that demand and supply for firms to the household remains maintained .If export businesses will decrease then it's effect can be counterbalanced by domestic market.

The above discussion is not for the economy and wealth power of China or raise of China. It just gives the idea about "how a country becomes a leader" and who is responsible for that.Above discussion gives a clear picture about the thinking of people and their responsibilities towards their family.we know that family makes a society and society " makes the country".

i finally conclude that just rational thinking of people can make a country "THE LEADER".

Indian students' GMAT score highest in the world

Indian students enrolled for Post Graduate Program in Management for Executives (PGPX) in Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) have the highest average Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score of 728 among successful candidates, which is the highest in the world. Indian institute has surpassed the prestigious Stanford University which marked the second highest of 725.

IIM-A's PGPX has recorded an average GMAT score of Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad's one-year program which recorded an average GMAT score of 714 for the 2008-09 batch, ranking third follows IIM-A.

For enrolling executive management programs, candidate should possess a minimum work experience of five to seven years. However, the trend is that those who sign on, usually have average work experience of eight to 10 years.

The increase in the applications for such courses shows the high popularity of one-year programs in India. ISB received 3,000 applications for 440 seats last year. Foreseeing a rise by 40 percent this year, the institute has decided to increase the seats to 550.

Moreover, global recruiters have showed much interest in recruiting graduates of these programs. Big companies like, Microsoft, GE, Shell, Booz Allen Hamilton, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, ITC, RPG, Yes Bank, Infosys and Tech Mahindra have hired in big number among such graduates.

Inspired by IIM-A and ISB, many other institutes including IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) in Manipal and Nirma Institute of Management (NIM) are planning to start one-year postgraduate executive management program.

Shame on you Bollywood!!

Ya shame on Bollywood !! What has happened to Bollywood ?? Don’t they have enough talented and creative writers and directors who can come up with new, original ideas rather than outright plagiarism..Lets delve deep into this matter..

My first encounter with this unseen aspect of bollywood was not “plagarised” story , but “plagiarised” music..And it was none other than our own Pritam Chakroborty..Boy he is undoubtedly the king of this field..
If u doubt on me, then please check this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkuGm_7sWdA and also the many associated links....

I had often heard that lots of hindi movies are inspired from Hollywood movies..And getting inspired is still ok , but bollywood chose the path of completely stealing every idea of its counterpart..I remember the first movie where i myself witnessed plagiarism was “Pyaar to hona hi thaa“..If you remove some Hindi “mirch-masaala” which they added to give it an Indian flavor..Apart from that its ditto “French Kiss“..

I felt like researching a bit more on this topic ..So i came across a site with a link called “Bollywood Inspirations..” and i was shocked to see the list of movies that had all been copied from Hollywood..Some of those were the movies which i was very proud of ,thinking that this was something totally Indian and original..I am pretty sure you guys too would be shocked to know that “Rang-de-basanti” which looked so-very Indian is also one among them..Its plot was copied from the 1948 drama “All my sons“..Sad indeed!!What hurts even more is that Bollywood people will never ever confess and accept that “what I’m dishing out has already been dished out in the “firangee” version decades back“..And they so proudly present it as if its their own creation..The one that deserves special attention is “Koi Mil gaya..“..If anyone of you saw the interviews of Rakesh Roshan , he used to say that the idea of this movie came to him from his 3-4 year old nephew/niece (don’t remember exactly..)..Why din’t he say that it was copied from the 1982 movie “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial” and a bit of “Forrest Gump(1994)“..(not pretty sure about this part though..) Then there are the big names like Dhoom,Hum Tum,Kaante and the list is truly endless..

Now the million dollar question is Why?? Why does the Bollywood resort to such cheap means ?? Indians are not that creative and lack originality..Na i won’t buy that!!One of the possible reasons as i got from the GOOGLE BABA is :

The Hindi film industry centered in Mumbai, commonly known as Bollywood, is an extremely prolific industry. Because films are often made quickly, on limited budgets, there is much incentive for certain scriptwriters and music directors to plagiarize. In some occasions, they may mine their own work, lifting riffs and themes from earlier films, imitate successful South Asian songs or films, or copy movies or hit songs from other countries’ film industries (such as Hollywood, the Korean film industry, the Malayalam film industry, etc.).

Fair enough !! Personally i think rather than copying movies in totality , it will be better if we copy their approach of picking new stories..My experience says that most of the good Hollywood movies are derived from some novels or some real-life story..Why can’t the Bollywood do the same ?? We have some excellent literature that has been going un-noticed for centuries..I’m pretty sure if they concentrate on translating Indian novels into movies then we can expect lots of “Devdas” like-movies in the future..I will be personally very interested in the Bollywood writers make more “Guru” like movies on real-life stories..If hollywood can make “Beautiful Mind” on John Nash , just imagine a similar movie on Ramanujam will be an equally big hit...

But the sad part is that Indian public is not game for such serious movies..They still want to see actor-actress dancing around the trees..Thats why probably art movies never really became that popular in India and we are still deprived of getting an OSCAR award..Hopefully Bollywood will stop imitating Hollywood and show the true magic of real Indian movies to the world!!

I wanna be PM

With the Lok Sabha election in few clock revolutions, everyone holds their innervated nerves to know the Prime Minstrel candidate. The no of individuals anticipating for the post of PM has tremendously been increased with the former elections. Every political party is claiming their leader to be the PM.If we look at the 2004 elections, to some extent, BJP was successful in creating difficulties to Congress by publicizing Vajpayee as their Prime Minstrel candidate. With the blessings of Sonia Gandhi Manmohan Singh wanna ascend the throne for the second time.On the other hand BJP’s groovy politician and its former president wanna fulfill his lifetime wish of becoming Prime Minister by always quetching the UPA rule. As many experts think of a new young blood to rule India, can’t prelude the chances of Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister. Having Quench to win the elections again and degrade BJP, they brought into picture of release of venomous terrorists in their presence. With the birth of 3rd front, many souls are having a ray of hope in becoming the Prime Minister, though they are tight lipped. Devagouda, Jayalalitha, Mayavati, Chandra Babu Nayudu are in the front race from 3rd front for Prime Minstrel candidate. But the left parties who play a prominent role in Indian politics want Mayavati to be PM.Furious about the decision of congress to make Manmohan Singh as PM again, NCP president Sharad Powar made plans to jump to 3rd front and cooled down with the interference of Sonia Gandhi. But he also sent signals that he wanna be PM and publicizing himself with Maratha slogans.Laalu ,who recently got segregated from congress is also in the race for PM.Lets not forget about Ram Vilas Paswan and Mulayam Singh Yadav who declared that they want to be PM on many occasions. Though many people are in the illusion of imagining themselves as PM, it is the voter who finally have to decide the candidate???

LET US NOT BE FOOL TO VOTE FOR THE PARTY WHOSE PRIME MINISTER HIMSELF DOESN’T USE HIS RIGHT TO VOTE.(U KNOW IT IS NONE OTHER THAN MANMOHAN SINGH)

Hinglish ...

Well its the welcome news for all those flag bearers of "Hindi-bachao" movement.English the language of creme-de-la creme is gonna be pretty soon replaced by "Hinglish".Atleast thats what Gen-X believes. After all "Hinglish" has got auxs(aukaat),sounds cool and you don't have to belong to either sect of purists .The quirky and hep sounding Hinglish owes its beginning to the netigens, geeks and lovers who metamorphosed the two purer forms to create the abstract art ,the novel language "Hinglish".Be it -"Ye hai youngistaan meri jaan","Thanda-thanda cool cool ","Mera number kab aayega"etc ,each one of these commercials became instant hit because they echoed public sentiments, the feeling of Indianess and the youth were able to relate themselves with that. The role of "Bollywood" can't be undermined in this regard.Especially our very own "Dharam paaji and Veeru paaji" who have at various times mixed Hindi and English with such ingenuity and skill that not only did their dialogues arouse humor but were also accepted by the junta-janardan.The shorter version has saved millions from going through the turmoil to adhere to the grammar of either English or Hindi. In fact ignorance is portrayed as virtue, a sign of being in vogue. Still innovations are being done in this field.Major breakthroughs done are in generating short forms of like auks for aukaat, fodhu for intelligent etc.Similarly autopsy of a new form of grammar is being developed by R&D department.New forms of verbs like -"pakaaying","fassying","line maaring","ghusaaing" etc are being dissected and will shortly be launched. The day is not far that Hinglish will be outsourced to foreign countries like US and UK and will dislodge English as the world's most widely spoken language. Just till then "Intezaar karing and dekhing ;)".[For all the readers just share with us other interesting uses of Hinglish and give your views about the subject]
